Hello everyone , I am looking for more info on the making of nanashi-taitibee. Somewhere in this forum Ballerstein (Jens) wrote that nanashi pattern shows up in the the F4 or F5 generation , after crossing back with the parental generation (so F3 x F2 or F4 x F3 ).
Since I want to start a nanashi-breeding project I first did purchase a nice group of fancy tibees , that are -according to the breeder -at least F3. Also he told me the following strains have been used to make these fancy tibees : CR , CB , SW , spotted head , BTOE , red tiger and taiwan bee.
Do I still need to add any other strain , or is everything I need already in there ?
Do the nanashi only arise out of X-crossings (meaning crossings with a parental generation) ?
That would mean I first need to wait for the next generation , before I can make an attempt to breed nanashi..
Anyone a suggestion on how I should set up my breeding project and choose / select the most suitable animals , starting from these fancy tibees ?
Many thanks ,
Lucky
